As the doors shut that evening, Celeste could feel the anger rushing through her entire body. The little brat! Celeste thought, I gave her the codes to my room, and said she could stay there, and this is how she reapays me? Dr. Affity said that to Gen and Gen cringed.
"Sit." Dr affity pointed to her sofa with an adjacent chair. Gen sat down on the chair. Dr. Affity glided over to the sofa and settled down, trying every technique she knew to calm down. She sighed. "So, my little sticky-fingered friend. Might I ask what exactly it is that you did? Uh- starting with my pendant. What exactly happened?"
Gen looked uneasy. She moved around in her seat a second, as if deciding on what to say. "Um... nothing really. Just I thought it looked nice so I.... uh, I put it on. But it was weird and did this glowing thing. So I set it back. Then I looked around bit and then I decided that your closet had to hold great surprises if you jewelry did. But I wasn't going to take anything! Honest! What would I do with it? I mean, it's not like there's any way off this space ship."
"So you opened my closet and decide to start trying things on. Well, since you already know a little, I might as well just tell you... that pendant was given to me by someone I met on Betazed. They also happened to be Q. He was a dear friend of mine, and sadly, our affair did not last because of my work. But he gave me this to remember him by. It gives me the power to do anything I want. Thigs you could even imagine. "
"Whoah! Q? " Gen interrupted.
"Yes. DON'T INTERRUPT. He told me as I left that he put a litle bit of every one of his powers into it and that because of my mind power I should be able to learn how to utilize them in time. I did. Normally I wear that pendant twentyfour hours a day, but I was in a rather touchy mood earlier and I did want to set anything off by accident," Dr. Affity reached at her pendant and put it on. The pendant, and her eyes glowed a beautiful shade of violet for a few seconds. Gen gasped. "See. Now, why do I not wear uniforms? Because of certain beleifs and also because I hate them and no one really wanted to get on my bad side. But while you are on board this ship, I will teach you how to use the replicators. By the way, are you good in science by any chance? We could use an extra hand at Medical."
"Science? I have never really been exposed to that much science, but I suppose I always have had a knack at it. I'm hungry. I am sorry that I went through your stuff. Also, when I first came in, that gravity change really got me."
"I like the gravity low. It helps meditation and pwering mind abilities. It gets lower at night because that's the only way I can get to sleep. You will also note that everything in my room and everything I wear is purple. That is just how I am. I assume from your outfit you like black? That can be arranged. Now to the replicator. Food first, then clothes." Dr. Affity smiled. What do you want for dinner? The replicator can make anything you would like.
"Oh, wow!. Um, well, I like potato casserole. And juice... um, pineapple juice." Gen looked at the replicator as her food appeared. "This is going to be the best meal I've had in a while!"
"Steamed vegetables... Samarian Sunset." Her request appeared in the replicator and she flicked the glass. For a few seconds a bright light lit up the room. Genevieve couldn't believe it. When they were finished eating, and had put their dishes back in the replicator, Dr. Affity said, "Now clothes. Just say the things you want, what colour, what size. Don;t over do it. I am going to shower, write in my journal, and read and go to bed. You are free to do as you wish, the holodeck is down the way. You'll find it, I think. But be sure to ask who's there before you go in. Around this time people can be doing some pretty strange things in there."
"I know what you mean." Gen turned as if to leave, "Celeste, are there any other Vulcans on board?"
"Yes. But you probably wouldn't like him, he isn't very agreeable. He was not socialized well enough. Must not have been taken on enough walks when he was a little Vulcan.
"Oh, just wondering. I have to meet this guy. What's his name?"
"Selek."
"Selek, huh? Hmm, that sounds familiar. Goodnight, doctor," Gen mumbled as the door hissed, "I know I've heard that name before........."
